Let me start up. What is a Server? A server is a generic term of a computer and application serving a service to other computers (the clients) on a network. In comparison to peer-to-peer the communication of a server differs from the one which is client. A server serves information to computers that connect to it. These computers, called clients, can connect to a server through either a local area network (LAN) or a wide area network (WAN), such as the Internet. When users connect to a server, they can access programs, files, and other information from the server.
